1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses SkinsFlow: merchants and their team members, developers using our API, and customers who pay through a checkout. Merchants are responsible for making sure their own websites, products and customers comply with it.
SkinsFlow is built for businesses that sell digital goods and services online, such as games, game servers, top-ups, communities and digital stores, and want to accept game items as payment. If you are not sure whether your business or a use case is allowed, ask us before you apply at [email protected].
2. General restrictions
Beyond the categories listed below, you may not use SkinsFlow for any business, product or practice that:
- violates the rules of Valve and Steam (including the Steam Subscriber Agreement), of the game publishers whose items are traded, or of our payment and banking partners;
- violates any law or government regulation, including consumer protection, sanctions, anti-money-laundering and data protection law;
- involves fraudulent, deceptive, unfair, abusive or predatory practices;
- is marketed through outbound telemarketing, unsolicited messages or spam;
- threatens reputational damage to SkinsFlow, our partners, Valve or the game publishers whose items are traded;
- results in, or creates a significant risk of, trade reversals, chargebacks, fines, damages, harm or liability;
- engages in, encourages, promotes or celebrates violence or physical harm to persons or property, or hatred toward any group based on race, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, national origin or any other immutable characteristic;
- contravenes the requirements for consent under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar privacy laws.
Some of these may not be obvious when you apply. We reserve the right to use our judgment in deciding whether any of these factors are present, both at onboarding and at any time afterwards.
3. Prohibited categories
By creating an account and accepting payments through SkinsFlow, you confirm that you will not accept payments with any connection to the following business categories and practices. Many of them are imposed by our partners.

Payments and financial services
- Payment services of any kind, regulated or not, including acting as a payment facilitator, payment service provider, money transmitter or merchant of record for others.
- Letting other sellers accept payments through your account, such as marketplaces or platforms where third parties sell to customers, unless we have agreed to it in writing.
- Exchanges, dealers or trading platforms for financial instruments, currencies, cryptocurrencies or virtual currencies, and money transfer or cash-out services for third parties.

Other prohibited categories
- Adult and other age-restricted content and services, including sexually oriented material and dating services.
- Unlicensed gambling: betting, casino games, lotteries, games of chance, case openings, coin flips, crash, roulette or jackpot games where items or their value are staked, unless you hold every licence required where you and your customers are located (see section 6).
- Content generation that uses a person's likeness without their explicit consent, including deepfakes, face swaps and voice impersonation.

5. Fraud, scams and deception
- Scams of any kind, including fake giveaways, fake trade bots, and fake "verification" or "middleman" services.
- Impersonating SkinsFlow, Valve, Steam, a game publisher, a merchant or anyone else, including by copying our brand, checkout or emails.
- Phishing for passwords, Steam Guard codes, trade links or account credentials.
- Misleading customers about prices, bonuses, what they will receive, or who they are dealing with.
6. Restricted categories
Some businesses carry more risk. They are not prohibited, but they need our written approval before going live, and we run enhanced due diligence on them. If your business falls into one of these categories, our compliance team will contact you during verification and may ask for licences, policies or other documents:
- Licensed gambling and games of chance, including case openings and item-based games. You must hold, and keep valid, every licence required where you and your customers are located, block customers in places where you are not licensed, and apply the age checks, responsible-play measures and customer checks your licence requires.
- Skin marketplaces and trading platforms, and any business that buys or sells game items from or to its customers.
- Top-ups, game currency and digital goods resellers.
- Games of skill and competitions with prizes, and sweepstakes.
- VPN and proxy services.
- Technical support and device optimisation services.
- AI content generation that can produce realistic people.
- Businesses active in more than one regulated market.
These lists reflect our risk appetite and our partners' rules. They are not exhaustive: new business models appear all the time, and we may decline or end any relationship at our discretion.
7. Abuse of the platform
- Attacking, probing, scanning or load-testing our systems without our written permission.
- Scraping or harvesting data, or accessing the Service other than through our dashboard, checkout and documented API.
- Circumventing rate limits, IP allow-lists, fees, verification or other controls.
- Sharing API secrets, embedding them in client-side code, or giving access to people outside your team.
- Reselling or white-labelling SkinsFlow to other businesses without a written agreement with us.
- Sending spam or unsolicited messages that mention SkinsFlow.
8. Restricted countries
SkinsFlow is not available to people and businesses in certain high-risk or sanctioned countries and regions, or to sanctioned persons anywhere. Merchants must not offer a SkinsFlow checkout to customers in those places. The full list is in our Geographic Restrictions.
9. Enforcement
If we believe this policy has been broken, we may, without notice: decline or cancel trades and purchases, hold or reverse credits, remove a project, suspend or close an account, and share information with the affected parties, Steam and the authorities. We may also claim compensation for losses we suffer. Serious breaches may be reported under our AML & KYC Policy.
10. Reporting misuse
If you see SkinsFlow being used for anything on this page, or if someone is impersonating us, write to [email protected] with as much detail as you can: website, Steam profile, trade offer ID, deposit ID and screenshots. We review every report.
