Sell digital downloads for skins with Easy Digital Downloads

A free gateway for Easy Digital Downloads. Customers pay with Steam items, the purchase completes on its own, and the download link goes out right away.

If you sell configs, HUDs, maps, server plugins, presets or other files to players, your buyers are on Steam all day. Easy Digital Downloads handles the files and licences; SkinsFlow adds a way for those buyers to pay with the items in their inventory.

The customer picks Pay with skins, chooses CS2, Dota 2 or Rust items worth the cart on the SkinsFlow checkout and accepts one Steam trade. When the payment is final, the gateway marks the purchase complete and Easy Digital Downloads sends the receipt and download link as usual.

Each payment is credited to your SkinsFlow balance in USD after the 2.5% fee. Make sure you own or may resell everything you sell; pirated or unauthorised content is not allowed on SkinsFlow.

Configurer Easy Digital Downloads

  1. Create a project

    Add your site under Projects & API keys in the SkinsFlow dashboard and copy the Client ID and secrets.

  2. Upload the plugin

    In WordPress go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, choose skinsflow-easy-digital-downloads.zip and activate it.

  3. Paste your keys

    Open Downloads, Settings, Payments, SkinsFlow and enter the Client ID, both secrets and the webhook signing secret.

  4. Connect the webhook

    Copy the webhook URL shown in those settings into your project in the SkinsFlow dashboard: Settings, Webhook URL.

  5. Enable the gateway

    Under Payments, tick SkinsFlow in Active Gateways and save.

  6. Test, then go live

    Make a test purchase in test mode, check the download arrives, then go live.

FAQ

Easy Digital Downloads et les paiements en skins

What does the gateway cost?

Nothing. The gateway is free to download and use. SkinsFlow charges 2.5% of each payment credited to your balance, and nothing else: no setup fee, no monthly fee, no minimum volume. Failed, expired and returned payments cost nothing.

When does the customer get the file?

As soon as the payment is final. If Steam Trade Protection applies, the purchase stays pending and the file goes out when the hold ends or when you release the payment early.

What happens with Steam Trade Protection?

Steam can hold traded items for up to 7 days and return them to the customer in that window. A protected payment is not counted as paid yet: the purchase stays pending. When the hold ends the payment completes on its own, or you can release it early in your SkinsFlow dashboard if you trust the customer.

What can I sell?

Digital products you own or are allowed to resell: configs, maps, presets, plugins, courses and similar. Cheats, hacks and pirated content are not allowed under our Acceptable Use Policy.

How do refunds work?

A final skins payment is not reversed from your side. Give store credit or send the customer skins bought from our market.

Can I test before going live?

Yes. Turn on test mode and use your project's test secret. The checkout then shows real items with real prices but no item and no money moves, and buttons let you play every outcome: paid, protected, returned, declined. Test purchases are clearly marked.
