  • Node.js 18+
  • TypeScript optional
  • No dependencies

A lot of gaming products are built on Node.js: Discord bots, game backends, Next.js stores and community dashboards. The SkinsFlow Node.js SDK gives them skins payments without an HTTP client to maintain.

Your backend creates a payment and sends the customer to the checkout link. The customer picks CS2, Dota 2 or Rust items and accepts one Steam trade. SkinsFlow sends a signed notice; the SDK verifies it against the raw request body, and you confirm the payment before you deliver.

It ships as ESM and CommonJS with bundled types, uses the built-in fetch of Node.js 18 and has no runtime dependencies. Test mode is a different secret, not different code.

Features

What you get with Node.js SDK

Zero dependencies

Uses what Node.js 18 already has. Nothing to audit but the SDK itself.

TypeScript types

Types for every request and response, so your editor knows the shape of a payment.

ESM and CommonJS

Import it or require it, whichever your project uses.

Webhook verification

Check the signature of every notice before you act on it.

Built for bots

Create a checkout link in a slash command and deliver the role when the payment is final.

FAQ

Node.js SDK and skins payments

What does the Node.js SDK cost?

Nothing. The Node.js SDK is free to download and use. SkinsFlow charges 2.5% of each payment credited to your balance, and nothing else: no setup fee, no monthly fee, no minimum volume. Failed, expired and returned payments cost nothing.

Can I use it in a Discord bot?

Yes. Create the payment when a member runs a command, send them the checkout link, and grant the role or item when your webhook confirms the payment.

Does it run in the browser?

No. It needs your API secret, which must stay on your server. In the browser, use the pay button script to show the checkout.

What happens with Steam Trade Protection?

Steam can hold traded items for up to 7 days and return them to the customer in that window. A protected payment is not counted as paid yet: your webhook receives a protected status and you wait before you deliver. When the hold ends the payment completes on its own, or you can release it early in your SkinsFlow dashboard if you trust the customer.

Where are the code examples?

In the developer docs, with examples for payments, the checkout window, purchases and webhook checks.

Can I test before going live?

Yes. Turn on test mode and use your project's test secret. The checkout then shows real items with real prices but no item and no money moves, and buttons let you play every outcome: paid, protected, returned, declined. Same code, different secret.
